Whether you are going for a few nites or a long stay, Rome is always a good idea! Now that I have a few visits under my belt I feel like I can properly share some of my favorite things about the city. Hope you enjoy my guide to organize your next perfect Roman Holiday!
Where To Stay:
Fendi Private Suites – If you are looking for the ultimate modern luxury experience nothing beats the Fendi Suites. From the rooms to the service, food and location this is a true five star experience. A lot of travelers love to come to Italy for the architecture and old Italian charm but Italians also do modern luxury perfectly! Accommodated with a welcome drink and early morning check-in. Our deluxe suite had the highest modern levels of comfort, with beds that swallow you whole, phones you can walk around with, a over the top fully stocked complementary mini bar and heated floors in the bathroom. Every touch of this boutique hotel will make you want to extend your stay (I loved the Fendi wallet room key holder)! The room service food was delicious along with complementary breakfast on the roof top.
The Plazzo Dama is in a great location with a chic bar and restaurant scene! The hotel gives you the perfect amount of art-deco with a hint of old Italian charm. A rare perk of staying in central Rome is a pool. The garden and outdoor pool is such a delightful sight. The only problem is if you are staying during the weekend the DJ sets can be heard till wee hours in the night! There is a reason why the room was stocked with so many ear plugs! I stayed in the garden suite. Situated on the other side of the pool with a cute patio. The continental buffet breakfast has an array of fruit, cheese, pastries and etc. There is also English and American breakfast classics on the menu.
What To Do:
Revolution Vintage: I love buying pre-loved designer items. Italy truly has a lot of great consignment stores. I happened to discover Revolution Vintage on my way to get my nails done. They have an amazing selection of excellent condition bags along with accessories. I think their prices are competitive with the current resale market (I hate when stores try and mark-up bags way higher than the going rate). If you are looking to do a deep dive in to vintage items I suggest you check out Ciao Vintage— think tailored wool Hermes coats and classic Valentino dresses.
BAHR City Spa When you enter it seems like a modern design nail bar. Inside the spa ancient roman columns greet you at the entrance, their is also a underground floor that has mosaics that are said to be from emperor Nero’s private baths. This is my go to spot for a excellent gel pedicure.
de Russie Spa I am always down to try something new! From cool sculpting to icoone laser treatments. So when I saw the “Ayurveda Garshan Slim” on the spa brochure I needed to book this treatment right away! This is the first time I have seen instant results from a slimming technique. I was so impressed I purchased all the suggested products and will be booking again next time I am in Rome!
Where To Drink:
Salotto42 is steps away from the Pantheon, truly classic spot where locals snag almost every available table before 10PM! I suggest grabbing a cocktail from the bar and waiting for table. They also serve light bites if you get a little hungry.
Stravinskij Bar is set in one of the most exquisite 5-star hotels in Rome– Hotel De Russie. I love this place for an aperitivo or after-dinner drink. Elegant garden courtyard with an amazing atmosphere and impeccable service!
The Pacifico – set within the Palazzo Dama Hotel, This Peruvian concept dining is a favorite amoung the fashion crowd. They have an amazing cocktail menu–I suggest trying the Pisco Sour! Stop here for dinner if you are craving something other than Italian.
Bar Locarno is footsteps away from Piazza del Popolo. With amazing team of mixologist this place is the perfect spot to start out your night or for Aperitivo, try the Serenissima!
Where To Eat:
ZUMA situated at the top of the Fendi flagship store. The beautiful Japanese-inspired minimal modern interior is great but it simply does not compare to the views from it’s rooftop terrace bar. Post dinner take the elevator upstairs and enjoy a cocktail! The tasting menu is always a great idea if you are not sure what to order.
Mirabelle This rooftop restaurant is one to experience at least once. The food is exquisite and true authentic Italian fine dining! I was impressed that the food is exclusively grown and produced in Italy! Set in the Hotel Splendide Royal with classic decor, the live piano gives it an old world feel. With terrace views spanning all the way to St Peter’s Basilica–I would suggest going mid-spring to early fall to enjoy the outdoor dining.
Cantina e Cucina one of the best lasagnas in town! Don’t get lured into another restaurants on your way there. This cute casual place serves regional food with a rustic style interior. I also had the cacio e pepe which was really good too.
La Buvette Nestled on one of the most quiet and elegant streets of Rome, Via Vittoria, with a cozy a indoor and sidewalk dining area. You can relax away from the noisy and crowded side streets of the Spanish steps area. They have a nice breakfast selection from classic Italian to omelettes to an American breakfast.
Pasticceria Regoli a must stop if you are in Rome. For the most Indulgent Italian breakfast treat your self to a maritozzo–a classic Roman pastry. No one makes them better than this family owned bakery!
