This summer I had the most AMAZING experience in Como! It was beyond my expectations with wonderful people and breathtaking views! I can’t wait to visit again.
When originally planning my ultimate summer vacation in Italy, Lake Como was not on the list. Shocking, I know! It wasn’t until I was sharing details of my itinerary with my Mom that she mentioned how can I spend so much time in Italy and not stay in Lake Como. Then it dawned on me, to look for a cooking experience in Lake Como since I was finding it hard to pick one in the other areas we were already visiting.
Little did I know this would be an experience of a lifetime! Searching through trip advisor, virator and various travel web-sites my friend Sherry and I stumbled upon a day excursion from Milan to Como with a guided tour and cooking experience.
Rezno our tour guide met us at the train station in Milan. Mind you we thought this was a group tour. Turned out to be a private excursion. The level of excitement heightened when Renzo went into the details of our itinerary of our trip on the train.
We met with chef Momi’s sous chef who guided us through the local markets to prep for the days menu. We tried a few cheeses and fresh fruits along the way.
Once we arrived to the restaurant Momi, we were immersed with the staff preparing various dishes to making fresh pasta. It was such a wonderful experience. Chef Momi and his staff made us feel so welcome!
After we finished our duties in the kitchen we sat and had lunch with the most breathtaking views ever!
After lunch we went back to the main part of Como to tour the town and shop! We found this chic boutique Tessabit that had such a unique curated collection of designer clothes and accessories. I purchased these beautiful Dolce & Gabbana shorts that I couldn’t leave without.
