February 1955 was the first release of the Classic Chanel which is known as the 2.55. It has been said to be the foundation of any handbag collection. In February 2005 Karl Lagerfeld redesigned the 2.55 honoring the 50th anniversary of the 2.55. Which is know as the Reissue. However today people have come to call any bag the resembles the original 2.55 an Reissue. It’s one of those iconic bags that will never go out of style. There are many variations of the original 2.55 that have been created each year. When it comes to purchasing a timeless classic like this, there are so many things to decide on. A Chanel 2.55 is truly a bag that will last you well beyond your life time & a worthy investment.

There are many choice’s to choose from when purchasing a Chanel which makes this bag so great you can practically have it in any type of fabric and color to suit your style or start an collection. I myself do not own a Chanel. I am getting ready to purchase my first Chanel which will be an white patent leather in the medium size in either the classic with gold hardware or the reissue with silver hardware. I haven’t made my decision yet, but this will be the first of many Chanel purchases to come.
