With weather in the high 80’s sometimes 90 degrees, what does one wear to a creative interview during the summer that is: stylish, weather appropriate, comfortable, but still professional? Light weight cotton is the key to staying cool during these hot summer days so why not incorporate cotton pieces into what you wear for your interview? Today I dressed my mannequin in what I would wear to a creative job interview during the summer.
I’m currently obsessed with this denim shirt that I got from GAP its very light weight and I can withstand wearing it in this heat wave without getting all hot and bothered. I decided to pair it with my Gucci khaki pencil skirt (it’s wrinkled I know) and a brown men’s leather belt. I still felt like the outfit was still a little too plain and I always feel a little more professional with a blazer so I topped it off with a shrunken Gucci blazer, took the Gucci scarf from my tote and tucked it under the lapel and added my vintage quilted Chanel pin. At this point I might have over accessorized by adding the vintage gold link necklace, but I feel with a creative job it’s not too over the top. I’m not really a fan of structured bags so I felt that my toiletries bag was a nice structured fit (I often use as a clutch because I don’t travel much). And when it comes to the feet I choose a pair of nine west leather sandals, I believe open toe shoes are fine as long as they aren’t crazy over the top trendy shoes, save those for girls’ night out.
