Positano Travel Diary

I’ve always wanted to visit the Amalfi coast. This past month I spent 2 days in Positano. Contrary to this being a honeymoon destination I found that me and my friend Sherry had a great time being two singles in this town.

I traveled with two checked bags and a carryon! I’m super thankful that we booked a hotel that had street access so we didn’t have to climb stairs with all the baggage. Once we settled in to our hotel we decided to explore our neighborhood.

We choose to go to Il San Pietro’s Michelin starred restaurant for our first dinner. The views, service and food did not disappoint! The views overlooking Praiano and the coast were breathtaking.

Our second day in Positano we ventured down the million stairs to the beach. Everything is so picturesque!

We rented a private boat for a 1/2 day trip to see the blue grotto and have lunch in Capri. It’s worth the splurge to be on your own boat and create your own itenary for the day! Made the experience that much better.

Our last night we had dinner at Le Sirenuse which was very disappointing. The hotel has a great view of Positano but other than that I felt that the food and service was very basic. Their outdoor bar Fanco’s was great for drinks and music. I would recommend just going there and skip eating at the hotel.
