When I mentioned one of the places in Italy I was traveling to was Puglia not too many people heard of the region. Before I started planning my trip with my friend I hadn’t even heard of it either. Puglia is the southern region of Italy known for their farm fresh produce and olive trees.
Me and my friend Sherry stayed in the small town of Savelletri in the cutest masseria. Masserias are farmhouses that have been restored and turned into small hotels. In this part of Italy those are the main options of places to stay.
After researching several places we booked a two night stay at Masseria San Francesco.
Our first outing was in Monopoli at La Dolce Vita for dinner + gelato! The restaurant is located in the cutest square.
On our second day in Puglia we ventured a few miles away from our masseria to the Borgo Egnazia. Spending the day at this resort was absolutely breathtaking!
After spending most of our day at the Borgo Egnazia we went back to our hotel to get ready for dinner. We made reservations for a sunset dinner at the Grotta Palazzese.
This was by far my best meal in Puglia! The food and service was amazing! If you’re traveling to Puglia this place is a must.
After dinner we wondered around Polignano a Mare. Every little corner is so cute! We walked around till we found a gelato spot of course!
Overall I wish we spent more time in Puglia to explore more towns. It’s such a beautiful part of Italy with such friendly people. I can’t wait to return!
During our stay we had the most AMAZING driver Frederico! He was absolutely wonderful accommodating all our last minute changes. His company Apulia Coast To Coast covers most major areas of Italy.
